Blog Editor: ecto

After reading a post over at Genuine Blog, I learned that there are programs floating around out there that let you manage and post to several different blogs.

I’ve had a go at sifting through the various offerings for OS x, and am having a go at ecto.

Rock.

It appears to work extremely well. We are pleased.

Weird Stuff

I apologize for the absence of posts lately, but I’ve been playing with the Falbum plug-in for WordPress on my wife’s blog.

I encourage you to check it out…it’s an excellent way to incorporate your Flickr photos in your WordPress setup.

High Schools Using Laptops – Not Books

Oh man…these kids have it good.

This story (Yahoo!) talks about a school in Arizona that’s issued iBooks to its students – instead of textbooks.

They seem to be doing it right – and that’s not just a pro-Apple comment. Rather, assignments are submitted electronically, and the school is on a filtered wireless network. Yep, they’re preventing kids from using IM while they’re in class (smart). They’re apparently using web-based software that compares assignments to those of their peers, so as to discourage plagiarism and cheating.

Rock on. It’d take an awful lot less space in my garage, if all of my textbooks had been on an iBook….

David Duke

It was noted over at Captain’s Quarters that David Duke is supporting Cindy Sheehan in her protest outside of Crawford, Texas.

You’re probably familiar with David Duke – the founder of various “Neo-Nazi” organizations, and an outspoken white supremacist.

So he’s against Bush, against the Iraq War, and against Jews (at least).

In other words, he’s a hate monger. Given my previous position on so-called “right wing extremists,” wouldn’t that suggest that David Duke happens to be – at least for the moment – a wingless extremist? His political views of the moment certainly line up much more accurately with the left, yet he’s a racist nightmare.

I feel vindicated. David Duke, poster boy for supremacist idiocy, is a floater. He’s completely abandoned the conservatives (with whom he associates himself) in favor of an ANTI-SEMITIC perspective of the war. He wrote:

In driving these illegal wars and embargoes that have taken the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, the Jewish supremacists are engendering Muslim hatred against us on a worldwide scale. They have sucked us into this 50 year war for Israeli hegemony and now we are paying an intolerable price. Plus, they have terroristically attacked our nation repeatedly. No other Mideast nation has done that.

The Iraq War which is taking or ruining the lives of tens of thousands of courageous Americans and billions of our tax dollars, was from the beginning a war created by Jewish supremacists such as Perle and Wolfowitz and it was completely based on lies. These lies could only fly high by the inordinate Jewish influence over the American and British media which aided and abetted this abominable war. And now America and Europe is paying the price for this illegal, aggressive, unjust and insane war that has cost the lives of tens of thousands of people.

Right. The great things about statements of opinion is that you’re not obligated to justify them with fact.

Here’s a white supremacist, who happens to have it out for Jews, that’s opposing a conservative president because of his wacko racial perspectives.

Now…tell me: how are white supremacists “right wing extremists?”

I just learned that Michael Moore is with David Duke in Crawford, protesting. I didn’t realize he was a right wing extremist too…
