Boy - I wish I had seen your analysis earlier! Excellent write-up of the different services (except for Yodlee?) and after spending a couple weeks getting Mint up to speed on my transactions I was stunned to find no ability to add manual or cash transactions. Like huh? Anyways, thanks for pointing out Buxfer. Gonna give it a try and if it's real good might even sign up for premium services. Keep up the great analysis!

I'm on the Quicken team, thanks for the write up! Quick note that Quicken Online is actually free now. No more $2.99. :) Check it out at quickenonline.com.

Hi Tim,

Mint.com does indeed support non-bank accounts, including: investment accounts (401k, IRA, brokerage, etc.), and loans (auto, home, etc.). We do have an iPhone application under development, we chose a more deliberative approach in this area to produce the best possible result. We do not support manual transactions however, our approach to this is to 'split' your ATM withdrawals into where you spent that money, should you be so inclined. Thanks for the review!

Hi Marc -

Thanks for correcting me on the mobile version. Again, I'm not sure how I missed that...my apologies.

I had seen the spending goals section, but the spending targets piece of the puzzle went right by me. It seems to work pretty well, though it's still a little bit different than the traditional "budget all categories at once" approach that most of us old-schoolers are used to.

Navy Federal Credit Union was the bank culprit, just as it is with a few of the other sites. Using Navy FCU requires me to upload (with the convenient Firefox uploader), rather than just synchronize.

Anyway, good show, Marc. Thank you for correcting me. :)

Hey, I'm the CEO of Wesabe. Thanks for including us in your review, which is very broad and comprehensive.

When you look at as many sites as you did, some things might have not jumped out at you. Just a few corrections on the Wesabe part:

* We do have a mobile version of the site, m.wesabe.com, and an iPhone version of the site, i.wesabe.com. They are both documented here:

https://www.wesabe.com/page/mobile

* We do have budgeting tools, which we call spending targets. They are documented here:

https://www.wesabe.com/groups/3-make-wesabe-better/discussions/714-setting-budget#comment_5812

* We definitely support three out of four of your test banks fully automatically (I'm a USAA and Amex customer myself, so I'm sure on those, and Wells is very popular). Navy Federal is supported, and should be fully automatic; if it isn't we'd be happy to add it.

Hope this helps. It sounds like you've made your choice but I wanted to be sure you knew about these features of our site, and that your readers did, too. If I can help with any of these or any other questions, please feel free to write me at marc@wesabe.com.

Thanks again for including us in your coverage!

To answer the emails I've been getting: I have no interest - financial or otherwise - in any of the sites I'm talking about here. :) And yes...that includes Buxfer.
