“Ahhh…I don’t know. It’s just like, hard. I don’t want to have to get my friends to join, they’re gonna be like ‘ehh, I don’t want to have to sign up for that, yadda yadda.’”

“Be a trendsetter, Kia. They’ll follow you.”

“Nah, we all have unlimited texting. We’re getting our money’s worth.”

“Yah, but…fine. Just turn the sound off.”

“Okay, okay.”

See, I’m of the opinion that the only reason parents have birthday parties for their young children is to provide an excuse for parents of young kids to get together and drink beer.

Natalie thinks we have those parties for the kids.

My argument is pretty simple to grasp: my two-year-old daughter didn’t wake up excited this morning because we were going to Sophie’s party. In fact, she didn’t even realize we were at a party this afternoon. Sure, she had a good time…but it didn’t occur to her that the occasion was anything special.

Us parents, on the other hand, saw the party as a prime opportunity to drink some beer, throw the football around, and generally enjoy ourselves while the children played with one another.

Am I missing the boat?

Regardless, the girls brought Rena (my Christmas present) home a couple of days ago. Short for “renard” (“fox” in French), Rena is just too much fun for words. Now, if the cats let her live for a few more weeks, she’ll be good to go..

You know what plumber’s crack is; we’ve all seen it before. Someone’s pants don’t quite cover their butt crack, and it’s visible when they bend over.

My dad’s known for plumber’s crack, and my sister had noticed. Only, instead of referring to it as "plumber’s crack," she calls it the bottom line.

If that’s not priceless, I don’t know what is.

If you’re familiar with the “My Twinn Doll,” you know the premise: you pick the features of the doll in accordance with your own baby, and you get a custom doll that looks just like your kid. My wife insisted on getting one for “posterity.”

Would you consider this a success?

(Note: I think the doll we received is about the creepiest thing I’ve seen)

Hopefully one of those rounds of thanks is for a massive helping of turkey, and an equally humongous dose of football.
